Mark Strain: The Future of Collier County

Mark Strain, Collier County’s hearing examiner, spoke last Wednesday, June 14th, 2017 at The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce Wake Up Naples breakfast, sponsored by David Lawrence Center at the Hilton Naples. To download the pdfs from Strain’s presentation, scroll down.

Collier is one of the fastest-growing counties in the state. Between July 1, 2015, and June 30, 2016, the Naples-Immokalee-Marco Island area added 8,566 residents and grew 2.4 percent in population to 365,136. That tied the area with Port St. Lucie at eighth among the fastest-growing metro areas in the state and 17th in the nation, according to census data.

By 2040 the county’s population is expected to reach more than 482,000.
