Celebrate Economic Development Week 2019

May 06, 2019

Created by the International Economic Development Council in 2016, the purpose of Economic Development Week (EDW) is to increase awareness for local programs that create jobs, advance career development opportunities and increase the quality of life in communities everywhere. EDW 2019 runs from May 6th-11th and marks the second celebration of the week at The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce.

EDW gives us the chance to recognize businesses, local representatives, and community partners who collaborate to make Collier County the place we have all come to know and love. EDW may only be designated for one week, but we make strides towards achieving the goals and benefits of economic development efforts every day of the year!

The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce serves as the lead economic development organization for Collier County and offers many services to business at all stages. Whether it be expanding, relocating or just starting up, here are some of the ways that we can assist businesses through Collier EDO:

    1. Site Selection Assistance

Collier EDO stays on top of current real estate availability and can help companies narrow their location selection for everything from a manufacturing operation to the perfect site for the latest biotech research facility.

     2. Market Data

Collier EDO provides in-depth market data information for businesses, including demographics, labor availability, transportation, taxes, cost of living comparisons, education and much more to help you make important business decisions.

     3. Connections and Referrals

Collier EDO can facilitate introductions to key government, education and private partners at the local and state level. We work closely with the Small Business Development Center, SCORE, Collier County Government and other organizations and individuals to ensure that Greater Naples has a positive and welcoming business environment.

   4. Financial and Entrepreneurial Resources

Collier EDO is a resource for companies interested in evaluating financial incentives, grants, Industrial Development Revenue Bonds and other support, as well as working with other business service organizations in the region to help companies establish a competitive presence.

   5. Workforce Recruitment and Training

Companies often need assistance with finding and training employees. Collier EDO can assist by coordinating involvement with appropriate educational institutions, CareerSource Southwest Florida and staffing agencies.
